West Bengal Wikimedians User Group is a Wikimedia Foundation recognized User group and community. It manages to promote and spread the Wikimedia Foundation's various educational projects in India. The Wikimedia Foundation is a United States based not-for-profit organization that manages several collaborative and educational projects around the world - Wikipedia being one of many such Projects. West Bengal Wikimedia User Group is an organization of the Wikimedia Foundation, which operates various campaigns and training programs nationwide for the promotion of such projects in Bengali and other languages locally. Wikipedia, the Free knowledge encyclopedia is one of them.

This wiki website is mainly used for documenting the activities of the West Bengal Wikimedia community.
